Collaborative Funding: State & National Finance Resources
As you may have read elsewhere in this website, VITAL Economy (VE) encourages rural economies to diversify their funding sources to include private sources as well as grants. Nonetheless, state and national financial resources continue to play an important role in rural development.
VE has worked with many national foundations and state and federal agencies that invest in asset-based CED strategies. Over the years, they’ve asked our VE Alliance members to help them improve their rural development policies. Our experience shows that regional economies that develop collaborative investment strategies are more successful in attracting grants from these sources. We continue to recommend that communities use these grant sources as one of multiple layers of collaborative funding, though not the prime funding source.
We look forward to learning how VE might assist you with state, federal or foundation grant resources. Contact us.
